Ever year the United States of America offer 50,000 green cards, which means permanent resident visas, to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. For potential immigrants the easiest way to obtain such a Green Card is to apply to the DVLottery, short for Diversity Visa Lottery, also known as Green Card Lottery.

The DVLottery is the essential part of the official Diversity Visa Program started in 1987 by the US government. The DVLottery provides a chance to receive a Green Card and therefore a permanent residential and working permission for the United States of America for those people who do not fulfill the demands Green Card applicants usually have to meet.
