All I want for christmas…
If Santa Claus actually existed, he wouldn’t be very pleased with my wish list for this year’s christmas. Because of the Greencard win and our plans of moving away from Germany as soon as possible there are no material wishes I have – except for money to finance our dream. We already had to face this problem earlier this year when we got married. Everyone asked us what they can give us as a wedding present and we always had to answer: “Please just money, because we can’t take much stuff with us to the US”.
Last year my mom and dad gave me a fondue set for christmas, along with some other things I asked them for. And my hubby bought me Guitar Hero World Tour for my Play Station. After our Greencard win this year I guess I can not expect to find presents as big as last year’s under the christmas tree. When I talked to my mom this week I asked her about what she will get my brother and his family for Christmas. She told me and joked about my present: “You are only getting an envelope”. I guess it is kind of lame for her not to go hunting for presents anymore and only get some cash at the ATM and put a bow around it.
My personal contest for the best present of the year is already over though. And the award goes to American Dream. Okay, I should rather give it to my hubby, because he gave me the Greencard through marrying me. But the American Dream made all of this possible, so my hubby needs to apply for the trophy again next year.
But to get back to reality, what better present can our family and friends give us than helping us to fulfill our biggest dream, anyway?
