Right now my parents in law are in town for their yearly visit with us. Besides a few other sights they asked us to go to Disneyland with them. We don’t really think that is a good idea – mostly, because it is summer break time and also because it is not worth to spend 90 Dollar per person to walk around at Disneyland for only a few hours. One of the main reason they wanted to go there is to see the fireworks. And we found a way to make that happen and add some Disney flair without spending a whole lot of money.

Yesterday evening at around 7.30pm we headed to Anaheim. Our destination was Downtown Disney, which is a little shopping/dining area just in front of Disneyland. Besides some retaurants and shops you also get a whole lot of the Disney atmoshpere – mostly because the theme parks are so close. The best way to see the pretty daily fireworks are from between the entrances to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. At 9.30pm that area is crowded with people who picnic on the ground to get a good sight of the Fireworks. We did exactly that. Even if you don’t hear the music and can’t see the Fireworks that are very close to the ground, the view is beautiful and for being absolutely free (parking is free as well) it is one of the best bargains you can get around here.

So if you are in the area soon and don’t wanna spend tons of money to visit Disneyland: Get some Disney feeling with visiting Downtown Disney and watching the Fireworks. We will definitely do it again!
