My all-american wedding
Saturday, August 7th, 2010
Right now I am so busy planning and preparing our wedding at the end of August that I don’t even have time to think about Greencards, emmigration and everything else that comes with it. What I do think about a lot though is America, because I love american weddings and try to bring a lot of it into my own wedding.
To save money for our big US dream I am doing most things on my own. Therefor my biggest hobby in the last weeks is crafting. And my biggest inspiration for that is the Martha Stewart homepage. I guess I will go crazy once I live in the US and are able to see her TV show. Flo and I do have a deal, that I am allowed to furnish and decorate our first american home, because he kind of did everything in our current flat. But I guess that he is panicking about that right now, because he sees to what I am able with all the wedding decorations.
The colour theme for our wedding for sure is red, blue and white. We will have cupcakes, a cute little graduation-style cake, a candy table and everything else that is american to us. We also do have bridesmaids and groomsmen, which everyone here thinks is totally strange.
I hope that all the wedding stress is not taking up our whole strength, which we need for the months after it. But right now I am so looking forward to that day. Not only because it will hopefully be the happiest day of my life or because it will be how I imagined it to be. The most important thing for me is to celebrate with all the people I love, because this may be the last time I can do it for the rest of my life!
Basically everybody can apply. Use our eligibility check to find out if you qualify for the US GreenCard Lottery.
Germany is going crazy, only I am not! I will make it official now: I am not cheering for the german team! Actually I am not cheering for any team, because I am not into soccer at all. And I would go as far as to say that for me soccer championships are even worth than carnival! I can not understand why people, who most of the year or even the most time of their lives do not give a shit about soccer, suddenly act like lunatics when they hear the name âLukas Podolskiâ!
Dear America,
