Father of the bride

One of my all-time-favourite american movies is Father of the Bride. I loved this movie when I was a little girl, because I have always been obsessed with huge weddings and wanted my own to be like a princess-dream coming true. I actually watched the movie with Flo sometime last year, but I didn’t think about it for one single second since we began planning our big wedding.
Today my colleague talked in a funny accent which reminded me of the movie’s wedding planner Franck Eggelhoffer – my favourite character in that movie. I immediately searched for a scene with him on the internet and couldn’t stop laughing. I really have to watch this movie this week before the wedding to cheer me up a bit. It is so hard to plan your dream wedding, but the father of the bride in that movie has it a thousand times harder than I do!
Funny thing is that my dad right now is the most relaxed person in our family. He isn’t involved in the whole planning a lot, because he works in Bremen and isn’t home often. But I know that he would be heartbroken, if like Geroge Banks he wouldn’t have any chance to talk to his daughter or the groon at the wedding.
George Bank’s situation is a bit like mine and my dad’s! Like George’s daughter flies off right after the wedding for a long time, I will fly off for a even longer time very soon! And I am sure that my dad’s feelings for this are similar to George Bank’s feelings! So inspired by this movie I will pay extra attention to my lovely daddy not only on our wedding day but for the last months we will be in Germany!
Love you, dad!
Basically everybody can apply. Use our eligibility check to find out if you qualify for the US GreenCard Lottery.
Yesterday we went to my bosses BBQ party and talked to one of my colleagues. It is no wonder that at some point the conversation came to our Greencard win and surely my colleague wanted to know everything about it! When we finished our story he brought up a very good point, that we sometimes just forget to be thankful for!
Winning a Greencard kind of feels like giving birth to a child. Like baby, the Greencard goes everywhere with you, doesn’t leave you time to be alone for a single evening and always needs to be cared for. Winners or future winners should be aware of that! Once you own a Greencard, you will own it for the rest of your life! If you don’t get an abortion within the winner progress or give up your Greencard in it’s first years, you will live your life with and for the Greencard!
