Las Vegas 2.0
We went to Las Vegas for the second time this year this weekend. Yes, I didn’t really like it there last time and I still don’t like it, but we had concert tickets so we decided to go for two nights. We also had some friends over from Germany last week who wanted to visit Vegas, so we all decided to go together. I left work early on Friday so we could get to Vegas at a reasonable time and not in the middle of the night. We arrived in Vegas at around 9pm and all decided to immediately go out and not take little naps. We got settled in our hotel rooms and hit the Strip as soon as possible. We stayed at the Hilton Hotel, which is located right behind the Planet Hollywood. We had a beautiful view of the Bellagio Fountain from our room, but one of the first things we did was to actually watch the Fountain from up close.
Our friends actually aren’t the biggest Vegas fans as well, so the whole weekend long we did pretty mellow things like walking around instead of gambling, drinking or partying. I probably don’t have too many good tips for Vegas for you after that trip. The only thing I can say is that the Bellagio Buffet is pretty amazing (we went twice) and that they just opened a new Haunted House like attraction called “Goretorium”, which we will definitely check out next time we go to Vegas.
On Sunday we drove to the Arizona border to see the Hoover Dam. We did that when we visited Vegas in April and suggested it to our friends. If you are in Vegas, you should definitely make this 60 mile trip to the Dam. It is an amazing sight that doesn’t get boring the second time around at all! After visiting Vegas for the second time I have to say that I kind of understand what people like about it, but also it is just not for me!
One of the best thing about Los Angeles is that you can just jump in your car, drive a few hours and be at a super awesome place and take a nice weekend vacation. Last Friday we spontaneously decided to spent the Easter weekend in Las Vegas. Flo booked a hotel and we left Los Angeles at 9pm on Friday. Back in Germany we would have probably not driven 5 hours to go somewhere for the weekend. But since we moved here long distances don’t really seem crazy to drive for a weekend anymore.

One of the most famous german woman living in the US is model Heidi Klum. Heidi Klum and I do not only share our home Country, but also the same home town. We both were born and raised in Bergisch Gladbach, which is just outside of Cologne. I am not a big Heidi fan, but I do love something she does a lot! It’s this every year a new wedding thing. As you may know she marries Seal every year in different style weddings.
